Saint Mary's Rugby "One of the Bay Area's Hidden Sports Gems"

The history and current success of the Saint Mary's College rugby team was the subject of an article in the San Francisco Chronicle's sports section on March 22.

The article appeared in advance of the Gaels home game against the UC Berkeley Bears at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 24. The story notes that the Gaels' only loss this season was to the Bears and that both teams have qualified for the national playoffs.

"This is the best team they've had, and they've always been good," Cal coach Jack Clark is quoted as saying about the Saint Mary's team, which is continuing a 119-year-old tradition at the college.
