Saint Mary’s and Gump's, San Francisco’s legendary luxury shopping destination, along with celebrated Bay Area jewelry designer Ashley Morgan, are collaborating on a very special event to benefit the College’s Liberal Education for Arts Professionals (LEAP) program, a unique academic program specifically designed for professional dance artists.
On Thursday, October 17, 2013, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Gump’s will host an exclusive trunk show featuring unique creations from the Ashley Morgan jewelry collection. Nationally recognized for her use of natural stones, precious gems and one-of-a-kind designs, Morgan is generously donating a portion of the proceeds from the Gump’s trunk sale to scholarships for LEAP students. Launched 13 years ago, LEAP removes barriers to educational opportunities for professional dancers and prepares them for an easier career transition if age or injury prevents them from actively pursuing their dance careers.
Almost a dozen LEAP students, including dancers from well-known Bay Area companies, such as the San Francisco Ballet, Smuin Ballet and LINES Ballet, will appear at the trunk show to share their stories and several will model selections from the Ashley Morgan jewelry collection.
