Add a SMC in the News

This tutorial will teach you how to add a "SMC in the News" page.

About "SMC in the News"

Our nationally recognized faculty, talented students and accomplished alumni are frequently featured in print, broadcast and online news stories. "SMC in the News" shows recent coverage of Saint Mary's College in the news.

Examples of "SMC in the News"


Step 1

Select the "Content Dashboard" in the top right corner of the page.

Step 2

Click on the "Add a SMC in the News" button.

Step 3

First, you will start with the "Basic Content". Fill out each section with the appropriate information. The sections with a red asterisk are required, such as the "Title", "Body" and "URL" of the article source. In the "Date of Mention" section, please choose the date this news story was released. After this, you must cite the source of reference in order to allow viewers to be able to click on the link and view the original article.

Step 4

A little further down the page, you will see "Groups Audience". Choose the audience you think this page will appeal most to. Then, if you would like this to be private, select the "Make this post private" box.

Step 5

Scroll back up to the top of the page and select "Images and Media". Here, you will be able to add files to the page. Once you upload a document, you can use the given link and use it in the "Body" of "Basic Content" for readers to easily access your upload.

Step 6 & 7

After finishing with your "Images and Media", click on the "Layout" tab at the top of the page. You can select which type of "Sidebar Content" desired to display this "SMC in the News" page link on the website. Once you have chosen the highlight options, go back to the top of the page. Click save and view your new page.
