San Francisco Chronicle Profiles Extensive Photography Collection Owned By SMC Alumnus

The San Franciso Chronicle profiles Saint Mary's alumnus Andy Pilara '63, a financial investment executive with a passion for collecting works by some of the nation's most notable photographers. Pilara's extensive photo collection includes images by Diane Arbus, Robert Frank, Dorothea Lange, and Jeff Wall. Pilara is now sharing his love of photography with the Bay Area public by exhibiting his vast personal collection of American documentary photography at Pier 24, a warehouse in San Francisco's Embarcadero. Pier 24 features 28,000 square feet of exhibition space, quadruple the size of the photo galleries at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
