Hamaker Returns After Leading Seminar Program for Five Years
Charles Hamaker was honored at a reception last spring and thanked for five years of service as the director of the Collegiate Seminar Program. The School of Science happily welcomed Charlie back to the Math Department! Another science faculty member, José Feito (Psychology) took the helm of Collegiate Seminar last July.

Prevention.com reported on SMC research by Biology Professor Vidya Chandrasekaran and three current and former students–Wayne Doyle '11, Eric Shide '13 and Slesha Thapa '14–showing that energy drinks can delay the healing time of wounds to human tissue. Read about the research.

Sabbatical Research
Three science faculty members returned from sabbatical leaves in the fall and presented their research at a symposium. Mary McCall (Psychology) discussed “International Efforts to Build Inclusive Communities for Older Adults" while Hiroko Nakano (Psychology) and Mari-Anne Rosario (Physics) presented "An Analysis of Electroencephalographic (EEG) Oscillations in Argentine Tango Dancers."
