SEBA welcomes two full Graduate Business cohorts
On Saturday, January 7, 2012, Saint Mary’s College School of Economics and Business Administration (SEBA) welcomed two full cohorts to the Gael family at an all-day orientation. Faculty and staff warmly received the newest groups of Hybrid Executive MBA and M.S. in Financial Analysis & Investment Management (MS FAIM) participants.
The day started off with introductions from Director of Academic Services, Kathy Warren; Shyam Kamath, Associate Dean of Graduate Business & Global Programs; and Zhan Li, Dean of the School of Economics and Business Administration.
These new Gael graduate students felt connected to the rich Saint Mary’s history after a comprehensive introduction to the Lasallian Mission and the Christian Brothers from Brother Raphael Patton, F.S.C. After lunch the newest members of the Gael family were energized by their program break-outs and then spent the afternoon in a problem solving and team building exercise with industry expert, Tom Norris.
“The quality, diversity, talent, experience and excellence of the members of the two starting cohorts reflect the excellence and market-leading nature of our two programs," said Shyam Kamath, Associate Dean of Graduate Business & Global Programs. “Their interests truly mirror the global and responsible business focus of our programs and we are proud to welcome individuals from a variety of backgrounds and geographic locations, including Jordan, Thailand, and Vietnam.”
Some highlights from our participants include:
“I was extremely pleased with all aspects of the orientation. The historical overview was an unexpected treat! The staff and faculty were warm and friendly. I am very excited about the program!”
“There is so much new information and such a short time to throw everything at us. I expect that our first few class sessions will help fill the blanks. Great first day. Thanks!”
“Great session and team building exercise. I look forward to this new chapter of my life!”
