SMC Alumnus Considered for National Team Headed to Rugby World Cup

Kevin Swiryn, '08, a former captain and stand out player for Saint Mary's Rugby team is among 36 hopefuls on the national team that will play in the 2011 Rugby World Cup. Swiryn plays inside/outside center and wing for the Eagles. If selected as part of the final 30-man squad, Swiryn and the Eagles will head to New Zealand to face Ireland on September 15 in the World Cup. The sport's showpiece event, the Rugby World Cup is contested every four years by the game's 20 leading nations.
