Speed Mentoring: Careers in Finance

Join the MS Finance Board and Finance Club on February 19th for this first-of-its-kind event that brings together alumni, graduate and undergraduate students in a casual, fast-paced coaching atmosphere.

Speed Mentoring is a fast-paced-coaching event that gives attendees quick small group conversations with several mentors in the finance business community. Whether you are looking to change professions, move up in your organization or are just starting out, each mentor has over 20 years of varied experience in the finance industry and will be able to guide you through a successful career in finance. 

The event offers the opportunity to meet, network and learn from mentors who are the best and brightest executives in the finance business community for small-group coaching and conversations. Attendees will be placed in small groups and rotate through to ALL the mentors.

The quick turnaround is organized chaos which will be fast, fun and fulfilling as everyone gets the chance to meet new people and gain new insights.

Meet Your Mentors:

  • Gene Meshechek, BlackRock
    Area of expertise: Trading, portfolio management, and general capital markets
  • Kyle Stadt, BlackRock
    Area of expertise: FinTech, Investment operations experience, back-office operations for hedge funds and multi-manager portfolios
  • Stephen Parlett, Former Partner, Director and Portfolio Manager at Citadel, FinTech Advisor
    Areas of expertise: Equity investment, high-velocity transaction, and infrastructure business models including management assessment, financial forecasting, and valuation
  • Eric Souza, Silicon Valley Bank 
    Area of expertise: Fixed income institutional asset management, portfolio management, and trading
  • Christoph Lohmann, City National Bank
    Areas of expertise: Commercial real estate finance and commercial banking
  • Simon Nocera, Lumen Advisors LLC.
    Area of expertise: Investment management industry including trading, money management, hedge funds
