Check In and Check Out

When moving in and out of the residence halls, there are several deadlines and procedures that need to be followed.  Your Resident Advisors and the Campus Housing Office are dedicated to helping you with these transitions. Read below for check-in and check-out procedures as well as the term tabs for information specific to when you are checking in or out.


When you Check in to your room you will:

  • Complete your room key card 
  • Recieve your room key
  • Go to the on campus Post Office to open your PMB box. 
  • Contact Public Safety to acquire parking permits.


When you Check out of your room you will be asked to complete the following procedures:

  • Schedule a check out time with your Resident Advisor to complete a Room Condition Report.
  • Turn in your room key to your Resident Advisor
  • Go to the on campus Post Office to close your PMB box.  This is necessary to avoid additional charges. For more information about the End of the Year Post Office Procedures, click here.

If you do not check out of the residence hall properly or during the scheduled time, you may receive the following minimal charges:

  • $50.00 key charge for missing key
  • $100.00 improper checkout charge
  • Various cleaning/damage fees
