Welcome to Saint Mary's College!  A series of programs and social events have been designed especially for transfer students.  All events are open to students living on and off campus.

August 27, 10 am-1 pm - Transfer Student Move-In, Marjorie David Ageno Hall 

Get ready for the next step on your educational journey.  Residential staff will greet you at Marjorie David Ageno Hall to welcome you home! 

August 27, 12-2pm - Food Truck, Marjorie David Ageno Hall

New residential transfer students and their families can enjoy a free lunch, sponsored by Residential Experience

August 27, 3:30 pm - Meet Your Transfer WoWie*, De La Salle Lawn

Your Weekend of Welcome Leader, known as a WoWie, is a returning transfer student that will guide you through the weekend's activities and serve as a resource to you. Sponsored by New Student & Family Programs

*Please note:  You may want to bring some clothes with you to Paint the SMC at 4:30pm.  

August 27, 4:30 pm - Paint the SMC, Meet on De La Salle Lawn

Many have left their mark on the SMC on the hill during this campus tradition.  Get ready to get messy...there are no paintbrushes!  Sponsored by New Student & Family Programs

August 27, 8 pm - Weekend of Welcome Carnival, Central Campus

The WoW Carnival is a signature event hosted by Weekend of Welcome Leaders (WoWies) during Weekend of Welcome! Join the incoming first year students, WoWies and other student leaders at this carnival-like atmosphere during your first night on campus! Sponsored by New Student & Family Programs

Tuesday, August 30, 10:00-11:30 am - Transfer T-Shirt Giveaway and Resource Fair, Dante Quad

Start your SMC journey off right with a new SMC t-shirt!  Join us in the Quad (outside the Library) for coffee, bagels, and t-shirt raffles.  Transfer Students can also chat with numerous campus departments such as Financial Aid and Academic Advising.  Sponsored by Student Life.

Tuesday, September 6, 9:30-11:00 am - Transfer Commuter Student Appreciation

We know that SMC commuter students lead a busy life, so we wanted to offer snacke, beverages and a special item for your vehicle!  This event is just for commuter students.  Stop by for a chance to win a gas card!  Sponsored by Student Life and the Assistant Dean of Students

Tuesday, September 6, 2-3:30 pm - Transfer Living-Learning Community Tour, Marjorie David Ageno Hall

Did you know that transfer students have a dedicated residence hall? The Transfer Living-Learning Community (LLC) is located in Marjorie David Ageno Residence Hall.  This tour will allow you to view the transfer dedicated study space, lounge, kitchens, and quiet study spaces.  The tour will end with some refreshments in the lounge.  All transfer students are welcome to utilize the Transfer LLC year round.

Tuesday, September 13, 1:00 pm - Advance Your Degree with KSOE, Filippi Academic Hall

Join us to learn more about the various graduate programs housed within the Kalmanovitz School of Education. Between our Leadership, Teacher Education and Counseling Departments there is a pathway to a rewarding career for everyone! Plus, learn about our 4+1 Pathways that allow you to earn your Master’s in your fifth year.

Tuesday, September 13, 4:30-6 pm - Transfer Tuesday at the 1928 Pub

With the first two weeks of the semester down, it's time for a study break!  All transfer students are invited to join Student Life for a Happy Hour at the 1928 Pub.  Your first drink is on us!  You can network with other transfer students, play a game of pool and meet some SMC faculty and staff as well.  Non-alcoholic beverages are also available.

Tuesday, September 20, 1:20-2:30 pm - Transfer Tuesday in the Veterans Center, Filippi Academic Hall

Did you know that SMC is home to many veterans obtaining their degrees? Transfer students are invited to hang out and meet some SMC veterans in the SMC Veterans Center.  Refreshments will be available to participants.

Tuesday, September 20, 5pm - Transfer Tuesdays - Jump Start Your Career, Galileo 201

Staff members in Career Services are excited to work with transfer students to support their career goals. To best achieve this, we encourage transfer students to engage with us as soon as possible when they arrive on campus. Attend this session to learn about our resources, programs and upcoming events!
