Mary Volmer is the author of Crown of Dust.  She was the recipient of a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship to the University of Wales and a Chester Aaron and Agnes Butler Scholarship in creative writing at Saint Mary’s College, California. Her non-fiction has appeared in Full Court Press,Women’s Basketball Magazine and NPR’s “This I Believe” series.  Her short fiction has appeared most recently in the Farallon Review. Her second novel is forthcoming in spring 2016.

Cedar Sigo was raised on the Suquamish Reservation in the Pacific Northwest and studied at The Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics at the Naropa Institute. He is the author of eight books and pamphlets of poetry, including Language Arts (Wave Books, 2014), Stranger In Town (City Lights, 2010), Expensive Magic (House Press, 2008), and two editions of Selected Writings (Ugly Duckling Presse, 2003 and 2005). He lives in San Francisco.

Stephen D. Gutierrez’s most recent book is The Mexican Man in His Backyard, Stories and Essays. This completes his trilogy of autobiographical and varied short stories which includes Elements, which won the Nilon Award from FC2, and Live from Fresno y Los, winner of an American Book Award. He has published both fiction and creative nonfiction in many magazines, anthologies and newspapers, including New California Writing (Heyday), Sudden Fiction Latino (Norton), Alaska Quarterly Review, Los Angeles Times and San Francisco Chronicle. He is professor of English at California State University East Bay.

Marilyn Abildskov and Jeff Chon

Marilyn Abildskov is the author of The Men in My Country, a memoir set in Japan. Her essays and short stories have appeared recently in The Normal School, The Pinch, The Sun, AGNI, and The Laurel Review. She is a recipient of a Rona Jaffe Writers’ Award and Yaddo fellowships, and her work has been shortlisted numerous times for the Best American Essays series.

Jeff Chon received his MFA from Saint Mary’s College in 2014. His work has appeared in The Seneca Review, Word Riot, Barrelhouse, and Heavy Feather Review, among others. He is the editor-in-chief of The East Bay Review
