The Deepest Well
A poet is a thirsty child
Casting his bucket down
The
Deep
Well
Of his mind
Filling the bucket
To the brim
Pulling it back up
The water is dirty
Unsafe to drink
The bucket goes down once more
Filling up again and again
Cleaner every time
Finally
Bringing the pure water
To his mouth
Drinking it,
Cold and refreshing
Quenching his need,
And leaving you thirsty
For more
