Night-n-Gael Information Site

Thursday, April 16th - Friday, April 17th

RSVP Here!

We are incredibly excited to have you come and experience our campus. You will have to opportunity to meet with faculty and staff, sample our cuisine in Oliver Hall, spend an evening in one of our residence halls, and most importantly meet current students and learn about our Gael lifestyle.

Based on the information you provided in your registration we will match you with a current Saint Mary's student who will host you in their room Thursday evening (don't forget your sleeping bag!). On Friday, you will follow the customized class schedule based on your indicated interests. You will receive your schedule and meet your host when you check-in for the event.

Here you will find all of the necessary information, waivers, forms, and documents needed to be sure you are all set for our overnight program. Click on any of the links below to view any information you may need (all of this information is also downloadable on our Night-N-Gael Info Packet):

Waiver of Liability and Gael Code of Conduct

In order to attend Night-n-Gael, we must have electronically signed a copy of a Waiver of Liability prior to your arrival to campus. If you already registered for the Night-n-Gael overnight, your waiver has already been submitted! No waiver, no overnight! If you are unsure if you have submitted your waiver, contact us at:

What To Bring & What To Expect

What To Bring:

1. Standard Sleep Gear: Sleeping bag & Pillow

There is a high chance you will be sleeping on the floor. Do not worry! All of the Saint Mary's students will clean prior to your arrival.

2. Anti Stink Gear: Toiletries

Be sure to remember your shampoo, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, and deodorant! If you plan on taking a shower during your stay, please be sure to bring a towel and shower shoes.

3. Comfortable Clothes: Your Way

Be comfortable during your stay here. Wear what you like! Check the weather to see what is most appropriate. If you plan on doing any athletic events or using our pool, like our night hike or using our Recreational Center, bring proper clothing, towel, and shoes.

4. Extra Hungry?: Cash for snacks

You will be well fed during your stay here. However, if you have a big appetite (like Ardi), then bring some extra cash. We have a Café, Jamba Juice, and vending machines around campus.

5. Gael Attitude: An Open Mind

We look forward to this event every year and try our utmost best to provide you with an excellent experience. It is that much better if you participate as much as you feel comfortable. Sit with others at dinner, talk about your interests, and ask questions to any student you may meet (admitted or current!).

*Optional* Night-N-Car: Overnight Vehicles

If you are driving on your own and need to leave your car on campus overnight, we will have parking passes available for you upon arrival (no sleeping bag needed).

 What To Expect:

 1. Exciting Events:

You have been accepted. You are excited and so are we. Plan to fully dive into Saint Mary's Gael experience as much as you can.

 2. Student Hosts:

You will be pre-matched with current Saint Mary's students. Remember that they are students first. These hosts may have homework, jobs, and/or other activities during the evening. Feel free to join them if you can, but also remember you have events of your own!

We encourage you to meet other newly accepted students and attend these events together. You will have a significant number of opportunities to enjoy.

3. Insight Into Gael Life:

Day 2 gives you the opportunity to see the academic side of our campus. Every newly admitted student who attends will sit in on a class, participate in a sample Seminar, and attend a session of their choice!

Travel Information

Joining us from out of state or southern California?

We recommend flying into Oakland airport as it's the closest to campus. We provide a shuttle service to and from the Oakland airport on both days of the event for students who are traveling by themselves. The estimated shuttle times are around 1:30-2:00 p.m. for Day 1 arrival and Day 2 departure. However, if you are flying into San Francisco airport, you can access campus easily by taking BART.

If you require a pickup from the Oakland airport, please indicate this in your registration form. If you submitted a form without this information, please contact the Program Coordinator Jessica Stunz at (925) 631-5073 or

Due to college liability, we are unable to provide transportation for parents, family members or guests of students.

Accommodations for Parents and Guests

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide housing for parents and guests of students. There are several local options for hotels, all of which can be found here. All local hotels have access to taxis, and ride-sharing services are available in the area.
