Fun Fact: I’ve played basketball all my life and spent two years coaching the boys team at my former elementary school.

When I started SMC, I wish I knew...the importance of mental health. Make it a priority to put yourself first. You are more than your grades and your failures. Be gentle with yourself and remember that at the end of the day, we are all humans.

Fun Fact: I travelled the country playing trombone in a jazz band throughout middle school and high school. 

When I started SMC, I wish I knew...the more programs you’re apart of, the better the experience gets! There are so many great clubs on campus that introduce fun and new activities, and the amazing culture SMC provides creates an amazing atmosphere to make close friends.

When I started SMC, I wish I knew...you have way more time to do extra activities and make new friends. There is so much room in your schedule to add a new thing that maybe you have not tried before. The sky is truly the limit!

Fun Fact: I’m working on reading 50 books this year. It started with the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy during Jan Term. 

When I started SMC, I wish I knew...the amount of support that is available on campus! Introduce yourself to the professors, students, staff, and they will be excited to support you during your years here. Also, don’t be afraid to meet new people, and be open to experiences!

Fun Fact: I traveled alone to the Philippines in December 2019 to explore and spent Christmas there.
