Susan Wallace is the Vice President for Finance and Administration. Wallace possesses extensive leadership, financial management, and administrative experience. Her appointment began on Jan. 2, 2017.
Wallace has served as the chief financial officer in several not-for-profit entities. She brings to Saint Mary’s a proven history of management experience in financial functions, system implementations, and business process improvements. For more than five years, she served as the vice president of finance and operations and chief financial officer for the Erikson Institute, a renowned child development graduate school, where she was responsible for the institution’s financial, information, technology, facilities and human resources operations.
Prior to Erikson, she served as the vice president and chief financial officer for the Illinois Institute of Technology. She also served as the chief financial officer for The Poetry Foundation, and through collaboration with the president and the board, helped the nonprofit startup become one of the most significant literary foundations in the world.
Wallace’s background also includes Catholic higher education experience. She served as the vice president for finance and chief financial officer at DePaul University, the largest Catholic university in the United States.
Wallace is committed to giving back. She currently serves on the board of the Catalyst Schools. Located on Chicago’s south and west sides, the urban charter schools are rooted in the De La Salle Christian Brothers mission of providing educational access to students from under-resourced communities.
Wallace earned her undergraduate degree in accounting from Bradley University and her master’s in business administration, with a concentration in finance, from DePaul University.
