Jane Camarillo became Saint Mary’s Vice Provost for Student Life in Spring of 2007.

Dr. Camarillo earned her M.A. and Ph.D. in Psychology from University of California, Los Angeles, with undergraduate studies completed at the University of Texas, San Antonio.

As the Vice Provost for Student Life, she oversees the Dean of Students Office, Residential Experience, Campus Housing, Meetings, Events and Conference Services, New Student and Family Programs, Community Life, Student Involvement and Leadership, Intercultural Center, Women's Resource Center, Health and Wellness, Counseling and Psychological Services, Public Safety, and SMC Sustainability Office.  She works collaboratively with colleagues in Academic Affairs, Office of Mission and Ministry, Catholic Institute for Lasallian Social Action, Athletics and Campus Recreation. Dr. Camarillo also serves as the Incident Commander for Incident Management at the College.

Dr. Camarillo came to Saint Mary’s from Stanford University where she served for over ten years as Director of Residential Education. There her responsibilities included the overall development of the undergraduate residential program and implementation of academic initiatives in housing.  Prior to that post, Dr. Camarillo was an Area Director and Resident Director with the Office of Residential Life at University of California, Los Angeles.
