In Saturdays match up with Davis, the Gaels added some heat to the sunny day in Davis as they put together a solid effort to earn the victory over a scrappy and persistent Davis squad. Davis scored early with a penalty kick, which the Gaels followed up with an SMC try making it 5-3 at ten minutes in.
At 20 minutes Nick Wallace made a successful charge from 15 meters for a try, which was successfully converted by Augie Heath for a 12-3 lead. Five minutes later the Aggies hit another penalty making it 12-6. Just before halftime, Suzio took a nice offload pass from a breaking Kingsley McGowan for a converted try leaving it SMC 26 UCD 6 at the half.
Garrett Brewer, Bubba Jones and Bailey Hardwick substituted in for the Gaels in the second half. The Aggies scored first with a converted try two minutes in for a 26-13 scoreline. Jones then scored from an assist from Hardwick and the try was then converted by Heath for 33-13. Brophy then touched it down after four moving scrum attempts, three called back, and the unconverted try made it 38-13 at the 68 minute mark. The next score came when Brewer stole the ball and went 40 meters for a try, unconverted, bringing the score to 43- 13.
The final try scored by Brewer occurred when McGowan ended a big run with an unselfish dish to Brewer at the try line. Brewer converted for a final of 50-13.
