West Coast Meets West Bank in SMC Travel Course

Twelve Saint Mary's College students traveled to Bethlehem University to learn about the socio-economic realities of life on the West Bank of the Jordan River.

Bethlehem University students led the SMC students on a tour of their campus and other sites, including a nearby Palestinian refugee camp and the Nativity Church. The visit was part of a January Term class called "The Crusades," in which students travel to several Middle East cities to better understand the continuing religious and political conflicts in the region.
