Men's Lacrosse Come Away with Victories Over the Weekend

Prowess on the field brings victory in two exhilarating matchups on February 24 and 25. The Gaels defeated Cal Poly Humboldt and Southern Oregon.

The Men's Lacrosse team showcased their prowess on the field in two exhilarating matchups on February 24 and 25. The Gaels came away with victories over Cal Poly Humboldt, winning 8–4, and Southern Oregon, 19–3, at the newly renovated Recreational Turf Field at Saint Mary's College.

On Saturday, SMC faced off against Cal Poly Humboldt. The Gaels engaged in a fierce battle that tested their skills and determination. Facing a formidable opponent, Saint Mary’s exhibited remarkable resilience and teamwork, ultimately emerging victorious with a hard-fought 8-4 triumph. Their dedication and strategic play were evident throughout the game, demonstrating their commitment to excellence on the lacrosse field.

Carrying their winning momentum into Sunday's matchup against Southern Oregon University, the Gaels delivered an impressive performance that left no doubt about their dominance. From the opening whistle, Saint Mary’s asserted their control over the game, showcasing their offensive prowess and defensive solidity. With exceptional coordination and precision, the Gaels surged ahead to secure a resounding 19–3 victory, underscoring their status as a force to be reckoned with in collegiate lacrosse. 

With back-to-back wins against tough opponents, the Gaels have proven their mettle and highlighted their potential for continued success in the season ahead.
