The CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) Institute Research Challenge is a great opportunity for our students to engage in the rigor of conducting investment research, as a group, while competing with students on a global stage. Students are tested on their analytical, valuation, report writing, and presentation skills while gaining real-world experience as they assume the role of a research analyst.

A STEM-designated finance major builds modeling, valuation, risk, and analytics skills for roles across banking, corporates, fintech, and asset management.

Financial Analyst (Corporate FP&A)
Forecast revenue and cash flow, build budgets, and translate variance insights into actionable plans
Investment Banking Analyst
Create valuation models and pitch materials, support due diligence, and execute M&A and financing deals
Equity Research Associate
Develop industry theses, build DCF/comp tables, and publish earnings notes for institutional clients
Risk Analyst
Quantify market, credit, and liquidity exposures; stress-test portfolios and implement risk limits
Wealth/Financial Advisor (Entry-Level)
Assess client goals and risk tolerance, construct portfolios, and maintain compliance and CRM pipelines
Treasury Analyst
Manage daily liquidity, short-term investments, and debt/FX hedging while optimizing bank structures
Financial Data/Analytics Specialist
Leverage Python/SQL and BI tools to automate data pipelines, backtest signals, and deliver dashboards
Venture/Private Equity Analyst (Pre-MBA)
Source deals, evaluate unit economics and cap tables, and support portfolio monitoring and exits
