- Maritime Archaeology Research
Currently Conducting the Maritime Archaeology Research for the seismic retrofit of the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge as a consultant to Caltrans. - Industrial Complex at the historic Fort Ross site
Professor Allan is currently studying the Industrial Complex at the historic Fort Ross site. - Archaeology laboratory cataloging artifacts
Presently, he is working in the Archaeology laboratory cataloging artifacts from those excavations. - Looking for the Il'men
He recently completed a remote sensing survey, while teaching a Jan Term course, looking for the Il'men, a Russian shipwreck, at Manchester Beach State Park. - Sarching for the San Agustin
He is also working on a remote sensing survey in Drakes Bay, searching for the San Agustin, a Spanish Manila Galleon. - Conducting on-going investigations at the windmill site in Fort Ross State Historic Park
In addition, Professor Allan is conducting on-going investigations at the windmill site in Fort Ross State Historic Park, and is the consulting archaeologist to the California State Lands Commission in regards to the Brother Jonathan shipwreck project. - California State Lands Commission
On behalf of the California State Lands Commission, Professor Allan is also directing the conservation of artifacts recovered from the shipwreck.
