Interests
- Research, Scholarly, Creative Interests
- My research relates to ethnicity initially focusing on ethnic communities beginningbegining with a study of interethnic dynamics in a transitional neighborhood. I next did historical research on ethnic communities in the southwest, and a study of a contemporary ethnic community for my doctorate.
- I am now interested in the critical concept of ethnic identity in terms of cooperation and competition.
- Environmental sociology is an interest also, which began with a linked course with Chemistry Professor Steve Bachofer. I'm also looking at environmental racism in historical and contemporary situations.
