Sociology majors develop research skills, analytical skills, and communication skills that are well-suited for careers in teaching, public and mental health, counseling, social work, criminal justice, public policy, marketing, journalism, and the non-profit sector. You can take advantage of our exchange course program to enroll in sociology and ethnic studies courses at UC Berkeley, Mills College and CSU East Bay. We also offer a field placement/internship program with local social service agencies and businesses.
