Ways to Support Your Student

HELP THEM BE PREPARED FOR A TIME OF ADJUSTMENT
First year students are about to experience life on campus for the first time. Make sure your student understands the value of spending time on campus. Transfer students are familiar with college life in general but Saint Mary's may be very different from their previous institution. Your student is not a first
year student but they are new to this College. Encourage them to engage with the campus resources, organizations, and events!

ENCOURAGE THEM TO GET INVOLVED
Saint Mary's has more than 50 student organizations, and a variety of on-campus job opportunities. In addition to student organizations and jobs, Campus Recreation offers a variety of fitness classes and intramurals. Students can learn more about ways to get involved at the Fall Involvement Fair on Wednesday, August 30.

ENCOURAGE THEM TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF CAMPUS RESOURCES
A plethora of programs and services are available to support your student's transition, including your Success Coach and Academic Advisor, as well as campus departments such as Career & Professional Development and Student Involvement & Leadership.
