Tour the SMC Museum this Fall with Your Church or School Community ~
The Art of the Cross: 2000 years of objects and images, on loan from Christians in the Visual Arts (civa.org), and from the Saint Mary’s College collection. Many of the civa works are from the collection of Edward and Diane Knippers
Missions of Will Sparks: the complete series of 37 Alta and Baja California Mission paintings, once belonging to Alma de Bretteville Spreckels, on loan from Trotter Galleries, Carmel and Monterey. A catalog, published by the Santa Barbara Art Museum, accompanies the exhibition.
Nyame Brown: John Henry’s Adventures in a Post-Black World: Fantastic drawings and paintings of the former slave and African-American folk hero, inspired by bedtime stories told by the artist’s father.
The Saint Mary’s College Museum of Art is open to the public Wednesdays through Sundays, 11 am to 4:30 pm. Group or School tours can be arranged in advance for Mondays through Fridays, 9 am to 4 pm.

Museum admission is always free to K – 12 students and SMC Museum members; adult admission is $5 per person. For K-12 School tours, teachers, adult chaperones and drivers are also free.
A number of large paintings and sculptures from the College collection can be seen in and around the Library and the Chapel. The Campus art tour is posted on line.
