ABOUT
The Data Science Club here at Saint Mary’s is a relatively new club, only having been founded a year ago by students who are passionate about Data and the Information it can provide. Since its creation, the club has rapidly grown in size, and features a myriad of new events to allow members and students to continue to grow their knowledge!
MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission at the Saint Mary's College Data Science Club is to foster learning, drive innovation, and promote ethical data practices. We cultivate a dynamic community that collaboratively explores and analyzes data to solve real-world problems. Through continuous growth and outreach, we aim to transform data into actionable insights for a better future.
Excel Workshop
On October 6th, 2023, the Data Science Club hosted an Excel Workshop in Garaventa Hall in collaboration with Gael Women in Business and the Biology Club. The event included a great set up with six stations for students to practice their technical skills. Topics included Excel basics & functions, data cleaning, data visualization, regression, pivot tables, conditional formatting, simulation, standard curve, and more. Big thank you to the Data Science team for offering their expertise to the students.
