    Continuation of the program begun by Jacob and Alice Lester providing English-teaching techniques for elementary through high school teachers [PARC Lasallian Region]
  • Professor - La Salle House of Studies, Sampran, Thailand, and La Salle College Bangkok, Bangkok, Thailand (June 2003 - July 2003)

  • Visiting Professor - St. Joseph's Boys' Village, Genguvarpatti, Tamil Nadu, India (June 2002 - July 2002)
    Lasallian Summer Immersion 2002: construction, teaching, and visits to: LaSalle College Bangkok, Thailand; St. Pius X Boys' Town, Madurai; R.T.U. and St. Joseph's Development Trust, Tamil Nadu, India. After their work in India, Jacob and his wife Alice, (a graduate of St. Mary's College), were featured in a full-page article entitled, "Practicing the meaning of the Lasallian mission through education," in the 2003 Gael Yearbook, Volume 73, page 43.   • Visiting Professor - Catholic University of Eastern Africa, Tangaza College, Christ the Teacher Institute, Nairobi, Kenya (June 1998 - July 1998)
    Designed a unique course entitled History and Science: Key Readings in the Physical, Chemical, and Life Sciences, which included field work in Natural History and Human Origins, concluding in a visit to the Olorgesailie Site (Homo erectus) of Louis and Mary Leakey in the Rift Valley, and to the Northern Serengeti.     Workshops: Teaching English in a Meaningful Way
    Jacob and Alice presented a month of workshops for the teachers of LaSalle College Bangkok, LaSalle Nakhon Sawan, and LaSalle Chantaburi. They also made an exploratory journey into Burma (Myanmar) in preparation for future workshops there.
