SMC MFA Virtual Information Session #3: Crafting a Vivid Personal Statement
Featuring Saint Mary's MFA in Creative Writing
Date & Time
Location (Online)

About
After discussing the writing sample in the previous session, Chris Feliciano Arnold, Program Director, will move on to one of the other most important aspects of the MFA application: the personal statement. While your application details and CV will give an admissions committee helpful information to contextualize you as a writer, the personal statement is your opportunity to craft your narrative and explain why you're taking the next step of going for an MFA. Whether it's sharing more about your artistic philosophy or delving deeper into your own personal history and background, a well-crafted and authentic personal statement can make a huge difference when it comes to getting accepted into a program that's a perfect fit for you.
While we'll often speak specifically to the program here at SMC, we hope that this session will be informative and beneficial for anyone who's looking to pursue an MFA in Creative Writing.
Saint Mary's Virtual Information Sessions are designed to give prospective students the opportunity to connect directly with our faculty, staff, and students in a smaller environment. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with the program directly and our Director of Admissions, Collin Skeen, will also be on hand to answer any questions about the application process. Our Priority/International deadline for new cohorts beginning in Fall 2024 is Friday, December 15th, 2023 while our final, General deadline is Friday, February 2nd, 2024. Check out our Admissions page for more details!
Register above for this event and a link to our Zoom portal will be emailed to you with your confirmation.
