Parking & Transportation
Why We Do What We Do
Parking & Transportation supports the campus community in being responsible caretakers of Creation by providing transportation programs to reduce single-occupancy vehicle (SOV) traffic, enhance the campus sustainability efforts, and improve the commuter parking experience on campus. To that end, Saint Mary's requires all motorized vehicles parking on Saint Mary’s campus to have a paid permit. All revenue generated from parking permits fund these transportation programs. For questions or more information, please email Campus Safety at firstname.lastname@example.org.
1. An SMC parking permit is required on any vehicle parked on any part of the SMC campus or Rheem campus 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
2. Permits are issued for specific lots.
3. Permits are non-transferable, non-refundable, and are not pro-rated.
4. Vehicles parked without a permit and/or in the incorrect lot will be subject to citation and towing.
5. Issuance of a permit does not guarantee the availability of a parking space.
6. Spaces are on a first-come, first-serve basis.
7. For questions or more information, please email Campus Safety at email@example.com.
Purchasing Your Permit
Annual and Fall Permits for 2023-2024 are currently available at the Parking Portal.
Employee permits are always available, and are always monthly with an option to automatically renew each month (check the box next to Auto Payment during checkout).
For more information about parking permits and other parking topics, check out our Parking FAQs.
Student Permits cost $59.50 per term or $119 per year.
*The system offers Resident and Commuter permits to students by mistake. Please ignore these classifications - they are outdated and no longer relevant. Both permits are Student permits and are treated exactly the same.*
All students, whether living on or off-campus, will need a Student Permit to park on campus. Student Permits only permit parking in Student Parking Lots Monday through Friday, 5 am – 10 pm. Outside of those hours, any vehicle with a valid SMC parking permit can park in any lot on campus unless the lot is otherwise reserved.
FALL Term Student Permit (August 1 - January 31)
SPRING Term Student Permit (February 1 - July 31)

Low-Income Family Permits
Undergraduate students with an estimated family contribution (EFC) of less than $11,158 will not be charged for a parking permit.
Veterans and their eligible dependents are not charged for their parking permit, but must still register for one. Eligible students need to confirm their veteran status with the Certifying Veterans Affairs Official in the Student Success Office. For more information about confirming eligibility, please visit Veterans Support Services.
