Division of Student Life Strategic Services Alignment
The Division of Student Life at Saint Mary’s College is committed to providing a comprehensive educational student life program that engages students in holistic learning opportunities, promotes inclusive excellence, and prepares change agents to be global citizens within their personal and professional endeavors.
Anthony Garrison-Engbrecht, Vice President of Student Life, has realigned the Division of Student Life’s organizational structure to promote holistic student development and integrate resources that support the needs of our community. The realignment focuses on developing a staffing structure that supports a dynamic and thriving community that engages students, faculty, and staff in programs and services that promotes community building, enhances engagement opportunities, and supports wellness initiatives across the Saint Mary’s College campus.
The Division of Student Life is committed to the following goals to meet the needs of our students and campus community:
- Inspire a vibrant campus life experience
- Celebrate Saint Mary’s traditions and create a sense of belonging
- Enhance student services to meet the needs of the campus community
- Implement high impact practices that transform theory into practice to support student learning
- Ensure responsible stewardship of all resources
The division has created several opportunities to promote community engagement throughout this semester to assist in achieving the overarching goals for the year.
Campus Conversations. This series aims to provide opportunities for students to engage with the President’s Senior Staff to discuss topics that include campus safety, health and wellbeing, campus traditions, and the future of SMC. The first conversation in this series is scheduled for Thursday, October 28th at 4:00 pm in Dryden Hall. It will focus on Campus Housing, Safety & Security with special guests Hampton Cantrell, Executive Director & Chief of Campus Safety and Transportation, and Sarah Speron, Vice President for Facilities.
Campus Leaders Connect. This series of these events hosted by the Division of Student Life in collaboration with the President’s Senior Staff invites student leaders to share insights into their experiences in a casual and informal setting.
State of Student Life. This event, scheduled for December 1st at 1:00 pm, will share insights about the greatest strengths and opportunities to flourish within the Division of Student Life.
The Division of Student Life is committed to partnering with students, faculty, and staff to promote a thriving campus community that enhances the Saint Mary’s College experience.
