Mahershala Ali '96 Nominated for Third Emmy

Mahershala Ali ’96 got the call and received his third Emmy nomination on Tuesday for his role in the Hulu series “Ramy.”

Ali was nominated along with show co-creator and co-star Ramy Youssef. It is the first nominations for a Muslim American sitcom. Ali's nomination for “Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series” is his third Emmy nomination, previously nominated in 2019 (True Detective) and 2016 (House of Cards).

The 72nd Emmy Awards will take place on September 20. The two-time Oscar winner has not taken home an Emmy.
