Meet Jacqueline Garcia: New Interactive Media Manager
The Office of College Communications is happy to welcome Bay Area native Jacqueline Garcia as its Interactive Media Manager. Jackie brings extensive knowledge of digital marketing, SEO strategies, web analytics, and video production, which will help the OCC spread word of Saint Mary’s mission and achievements across the Internet.
Previously, Jackie served for over a year and a half as the marketing manager for the Berkeley Humane Society, where she was responsible for graphic design, photography, and marketing. Previous to this, she worked as the marketing manager for Shippers Products/Signode for six years, and was an academic personnel manager at the University of California at San Diego.
“I'm really excited to build and create content that resonates and encourages engagement,” said Jackie, “whether that be through our social media, website, design, or video.”
Jackie recently volunteered for three weeks in Namibia at the Wild Animal Sanctuary, where she fed and cared for baboons, lions, cheetahs, and warthogs; taught children from the local San Tribe; and planned marketing strategies for improving relationships between farmers and wildlife conservationists. Jackie earned a BA from San Francisco State University, studying cinema, production, and marketing. She also attended the University of Technology Sydney’s Media Arts & Marketing program along with De Anza College.
