MLAX Senior Day Game Played on Recreation Turf Field
Athletes Welcomed Back to Home Field
The energy was electric on Saturday, March 18th as the SMC Men's Lacrosse team proved victors to San Jose State Spartans with a 15 -11 win.
The Men's Lacrosse game was the first competition played on the Recreation Turf Field since after the removal of the pavilions. Club Sports are welcomed back to hosting on the all-weather field as they did in 2019 and are able to finish their 2023 season with home competitions on-campus.
At the start of the competition, the team honored their seniors: Austin Parlett (Midfield); Weston Wheatley (Midfield); Zachary Ugarte (Midfield); Nate Welcomer (Goalie) and Josh Fumia (Face-off).
The Gaels took an early lead heading into halftime and then withstood a spirited comeback from the Spartans. Tim Daly led the team with a total of six goals, along with Matias Limon with four and Weston Wheatley with a hat trick. Jashae Williams and Zach Ugarte rounded out the scoring with a goal each.
