On a bright sunny morning in Moraga, the Women's Lacrosse teams from Saint Mary's College and the University of California - Berkeley, hosted 20 players from Lamorinda Lacrosse for a youth clinic. During the morning session the young players alternated between doing drills and activities with the Gaels and Golden Bears. They teamed up with the college athletes for a friendly competition that worked on accuracy of shots, and picking up ground balls. At the end of the session, lucky raffle winners won memorabilia from the two teams. The Lamorinda Lacrosse players were invited to stay and watch the two teams play in a hard fought battle between the Golden Bears and Saint Mary's Gaels.

Although a tough loss to the Cal Bears, the Gaels fought hard and made some incredible plays today. Team Captain and Co-President Lillian O’Keefe led her team scoring four goals and settling the ball several times on offense. Senior Ariam Semere was also a key component to today’s battle as she scored three times and won several draws. Team Captain and Co-President Amanda Boutte had a great game with her control of the defense and her pressure on the other team, moving the ball up field and getting it out of the Gaels’ half. A huge shout out goes to the goalies! Trinity McCullough and Lydia Rose split the game, and each made some stunning saves against the Bears. While the Golden Bears took this game 16-7, the Gaels are not backing down and will be back this week for a game at Santa Clara University on February 24th, 6pm! Go Gaels!
