In the Associated Press college men's basketball rankings released on Monday, January 23, Saint Mary’s has earned a spot in the top 25. That's a first for the Gaels this season.

No. 22 Saint Mary’s is ranked for the first time this season after rolling over Pepperdine and Santa Clara last week.

The AP poll provides weekly rankings of the top 25 NCAA teams. The rankings are compiled by polling sportswriters and broadcasters from across the nation.

The Gaels powered past Santa Clara 77–58 on January 21 at home, with freshman Aiden Mahaney leading the way with 20 points. Saint Mary’s is the top team in the West Coast Conference.
