Ethnic Studies Workshop

By 2030, all high school graduates in California will be required to pass Ethnic Studies in order to earn a diploma. While this is an exciting moment for students and educators who have worked to ensure nuanced representation in curriculum, it has presented significant challenges for teachers who are overwhelmed or ill equipped to construct Ethnic Studies courses that are culturally responsive, grounded in the tenets of justice, rigorous, and affirming.

Please join Meg Honey (Ethnic Studies Teacher, Northgate High School and Adjunct Faculty Member, KSOE) for an interactive workshop about the launch of Ethnic Studies. Meg will share stories from the field, sample lesson units, and will facilitate an interactive exploration into local history.
