About
Join a faculty film scholar for a deeper look at the ways motion pictures mediate our “looking outward,” imbuing moving images with meaning. Illustrated with film clips—from Eadward Muybridge’s 1878 stop-motion movie of a trotting horse to the cinematic language of TikTok—the talk will survey themes of representation, power, and authenticity across 150 years of film theory, art, and technology.
