About
Ibn al-Haytham made significant contributions to physics and mathematics, including the study of light and vision. His demonstration—that light reflected from objects travels in straight lines to our eyes, allowing us to perceive the objects—motivated Kepler, Newton, and others in the development of modern optics. To better appreciate his achievement, we will create simple pinhole cameras following Al Haytham’s model, and observe the ray-like nature of light.
