College moves to GaelXpress 2.0
GaelXpress 1.0 will be retired on March 31, 2023 and will be replaced with GaelXpress 2.0.
Many of you are already familiar with GaelXpress 2.0 (also known as Self-Service). GaelXpress 2.0 has been up and running for several years for students, faculty and staff at SMC. If you have recently registered for classes, viewed your earning statement or submitted time-entry you are already using GaelXpress 2.0!
What to Expect
On March 31st all GaelXpress (1.0) links will automatically redirect to GaelXpress 2.0. The GaelXpress button found on MySMC will be removed and only the GaelXpress 2.0 button will be displayed.
To go to GaelXpress 2.0 log into MySMC and click on the GaelXpress 2.0 button under All Apps.
The GaelXpress 2.0 button is already available on MySMC so you can start using it today.
Why Retire GaelXpress 1.0?
The company (Ellucian) that provides GaelXpress 1.0, also known as WebAdvisor, has decided to eliminate WebAdvisor from their product list and focus on growing and enhancing Self-Service, which we call GaelXpress 2.0.
Ellucian, is no longer enhancing or supporting WebAdvisor as of June 30, 2022. Because of this, IT Services, along with our campus partners, have been working on Self-Service in preparation for the retirement of WebAdvisor (also known as GaelXpress 1.0).
