The Kalmanovitz School of Education is excited to announce that the Doctorate in Educational Leadership is now the Doctorate in Educational Leadership for Equity and Social Change

Our EdD program empowers current and aspiring leaders to develop the capacities and skills to transform lives, schools, organizations, and communities. Our innovative new curriculum, offered in a hybrid format, is designed so working professionals can complete all of the degree requirements in three years. With equity at the core of the curriculum, our graduates become educational and community leaders who address the causes and consequences of systemic injustice. They are critical scholar-practitioners who understand the challenges of our increasingly complex and global society and have the tools to adapt to the changing demands of the 21st century.

This fall, the EdD in Educational Leadership for Equity and Social Change will officially begin. Participants will now be able to earn their degree in as few as three years. Coursework has been designed to guide students through the dissertation process in a way that is tailored to their needs and specific areas of interest, and will help ensure course completion.

Our aim has always been to help students achieve their goals in a way that fits with their schedules; the shorter program duration and supportive curriculum design will make earning an EdD more attainable for students coming from a broader range of experiences. We’re looking forward to this next step for our Leadership department—and to welcoming the next generation of leaders to KSOE!
