MCLA.us to Broadcast National Tournament Games Live
The MCLA has announced that all 15 games of this weeks MCLA Division II National Tournament will be broadcast live from Greenville, SC including the Gaels’ first round game tomorrow at 10:30 AM ET. The first round (Monday May 14th), the Quarterfinals (May 15th), and the Semifinals (May 17th) will all be streamed live on MCLA.us. The MCLA Division II Championship Game will be broadcast live on Fox College Sports on Saturday May 19th at 6:30 PM ET.
The Gaels have earned the 14th seed in the MCLA National Tournament and will face a familiar opponent in 3rd seeded Westminster College. The Griffins were one of two teams to defeat the Gaels this season. On February 28th, after leading by just 2 points for most of the game, the Griffins pulled out a 10-3 victory over the Gaels in Moraga, in the only meeting between these two schools in their programs’ histories. Westminster will be bringing a wealth of tournament knowledge into the game. Since their program started in 2007 they have won four RMLC championships, been to every MCLA National Tournament, been to three MCLA Final Fours, and won an MCLA National Championship in 2008.
The Gaels are looking to meet the challenge head on. They are coming into the game with a 16-2 record, currently holding the longest winning streak in the nation at twelve games, a program record. The Gaels’ last loss was on March 2nd to #9 Concordia. They also capped off their third consecutive WCLL Championship season last weekend defeating Humboldt State 14-5 and UC Santa Cruz 16-5. They have now won 21 straight games against WCLL opponents dating back to March 13, 2010. Watch the #14 Gaels as they take on #3 Westminster in the first round of the MCLA Division II National Tournament at 10:30 AM ET/ 7:30 AM PT. Broadcast information can be found at MCLA.us.
