National History Day 2021

March 15, 2021

We usually hold this event in the SODA center and have the campus teeming with nervous and excited Contra Costa youth who are competing in National History Day.  Because this is a virtual event this year, you can enjoy flipping through the Gallery of historical research projects (exhibits, posters, websites, documentaries, dramatic performance, and papers) from the convenience of your own home. The contestants range in grade level from 4th to 12th grade and represent the wide spectrum of students in Contra Costa County.  The projects are decidedly impressive and hopefully some of these young people will be future Gaels!

NHD-CCC is particularly thankful to Saint Mary's for providing so many judges including librarians, students, administration, and alumni as well as professors!

Thank you also to WaGS, Ethnic Studies, Environmental and Earth Sciences, and Global and Regional studies for co-sponsoring special topics awards in Women and Gender History, Ethnic Studies--A People's History, Environmental History, and Global History.

The Gallery of all entries is available now.
