Dear Saint Mary’s Community

Last month we listed the projects we are working on, aligned to thesStrategic plan goals and initiatives.

Progress on these projects is going according to plan: Safely and deliberately, while minimizing impact to College activities and our guests. These are the hallmarks of excellent project planning!

Highlights of the work include:

  • Critical repairs were completed on the natural gas system campus-wide
  • Galileo 205 classroom, fondly known as the "Indiana Jones" room, has been stripped to allow reconfiguration of the lab tables and teaching space.  Both students and professors will enjoy the ease of learning and teaching in this space after completion
  • Residential hall bathrooms have also been stripped to the bone.  New showers have been installed; flooring, cabinetry, and plumbing will offer fresh upgrades to the residents in Claeys North.
  • Mitty Hall, which was gutted after being flooded will be a funded for refurbishments as a result of the FEMA-approved designation of this year’s rains as compensable disasters.  We are looking forward to starting the work as soon as the cost estimates have been approved.

Below, find the status of each project as we continue our work this summer to prepare for the "best year ever!"
