Spotlight on Staff: Kim Sullivan

How long have you been at Saint Mary's?

This is my tenth year working at Saint Mary’s College.

Tell us a little about your job.

I work in IT Services providing support to Peter Greco, our CTO, and the department. I manage the budget and track project costs. Additionally I am part of a team that manages our communication strategies which include updating and editing our website and coordinating information with our Knowledge Base which allows our community members to search for information related to “all things IT.”

 What do you enjoy the most/find most rewarding about your job?

I love to interact with the community. My work provides an opportunity to work with many staff as well as some faculty. This is a dynamic campus, full of wonderful people whose goal is to support the academic success of our students.

What do you enjoy most about the SMC community and campus?

I think the campus is a beautiful environment. I am thankful for the staff that maintain the grounds and landscape. They do a fabulous job. I also love the art and design work that is incorporated into the campus layout. I like the cycles that we experience during the year as well.  It is vibrant when the students are on campus. When they are gone, our department is very busy maintaining and improving things that will enhance learning and administrative functions.

Outside of work, is there anything you'd like to share about your interests, hobbies, family, or volunteer work?

I love spending time with my family. We have a large extended family, all in the area. We enjoy hiking and bike riding and getting together for food! I also enjoy traveling and spending time reading, especially at the beach.

What would you like the SMC community to know about you?
