State of California's Exposure Notification System
CA Notify is a new State of California digital tool that allows users to help slow the spread of COVID-19 by opting in to receive exposure alerts letting them know when they’ve come into contact with someone who has tested positive.
Users must have an Android or iPhone to participate. If you would like to learn how to setup CA Notify on your device, visit this page. To learn more about privacy and terms of use, visit CA Notify’s FAQ page.
CA Notify is not a substitute for contact tracing, rather, the system helps keep our community safe when paired with our campus-wide health and wellness protocols. To learn more about Saint Mary’s Contact Tracing program, visit this website.
How will I be notified if I have been in contact with someone who tested positive?
If you have been near someone who has received a positive diagnosis and participates in the CA Notify program you will receive a push notification to alert you on your mobile device.
What should I do if I am notified?
The push notification you receive will include instructions from CA Notify on your next steps and who to contact. Students who receive notification that they have been in close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19 should remain in their residence and contact the Health and Wellness Center. For employees that are working on campus who receive notification that they have been in close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19 should not come to campus and should contact their supervisor and/or Human Resources so the appropriate paid leave options can be discussed. For those working remotely that receive an exposure notification via the CA Notify app, and they become unable to continue remote work they should contact their supervisor and/or HR to discuss appropriate paid leave options.
