Managing Conflict in the Workplace

Managing Conflict in the Workplace

We have come to view conflict in the workplace as:  personality clashes, breakdowns in working relationships, mis-communications, disputes in groups and teams, and other contrasting situations.  However, conflict can bring forward innovative thinking, open communication, and creative problem solving if managed effectively. This session will focus on understanding what creates conflict as well as the skills required to manage it effectively. In this workshop, participants will:

  • Understand five types of conflict
  • Recognize the positive side of conflict
  • Review techniques that can be used to de-escalate conflict
  • Understand six productive steps of conflict resolution
