Essay Prompt Suggestion

Each year we choose a new essay prompt for the Common Application. This year we’re reaching out to the newest Gaels for inspiration; after all, it wasn’t long ago that you were writing an essay for SMC. We are looking for a prompt that will evoke interesting responses. Feel free to be creative, and remember that this is separate from the Common Application prompts, so we want to learn something new about our applicants. Write an essay prompt in 50 words or fewer and yours might be chosen and written on by more than 5,000 

Our Saint Mary's edits to the Common Application has been submitted. We will welcome new suggestions for the 2016-2017 application cycle in the spring of 2016.
