Intercultural Center Student Leader Reference Form

Thank you for agreeing to complete this recommendation form on behalf of a student who is applying to work with the Intercultural Center (IC) next year.  This recommendation form is due by April 1st.  Your student should have informed you of the position(s) for which they are applying.

Graphic Designer / Student Assistant (GD/SA)

The GD/SA provides administrative and programmatic support to the IC Director.  Working independently most of the time, the GD/SA is part of a larger team of student leaders who help implement many of the IC's programs and services.

Intercultural Development (ID) Leaders

ID Leaders are trained in intergroup dialogue facilitation and outreach to first-year students in the residence halls through Connect.  They may also facilitate Invest,m community dialogues around hot-button issues, and Safe Zone, developmental workshops desigend to increase allyship with the LGBTQI community.

Student Leaders Initiating Diversity Education (SLIDErs)

SLIDErs organize weekly IC programs around issues of identity development, diversity education, and social justice.  They also help coordinate large-scale events such as the Cultural Graduate Celebrations.  SLIDErs create community through programs and management of the IC office and programming space.
