Integral Program Scholarships

The Integral Program offers scholarships for prospective and current students.

Prospective Integral Students

Departmental Scholarship for the Integral Program of Liberal Arts ($13,000 per year for four years awarded to entering first-year Integral student). 

 

Application Requirements

  • Two letters of recommendation from individuals testifying to the applicant’s interest in the Integral Program.
  • A portfolio illustrating a commitment to inquiry based on the reading and discussion of primary texts. Applicants are invited to be inventive in constructing their portfolios.
  • Application materials must be submitted via email to: Jenna Sciarrino Pol, Associate Director of Admissions, jcs22@stmarys-ca.edu on or before Nov. 15, 2023.

Application Deadline

Applicants must submit all application materials (Common Application, high school transcript, a letter of recommendation, ACT or SAT scores) on or before the Early decision application deadline of November 1, 2023.

Expectations

The recipient must be an Integral major and contribute actively to the department’s work. Such contributions might include assisting with the department website, assisting with student recruitment, and organizing departmental events.

Invited applicants must interview or compete on January 20, 2024 with faculty from their department of interest. The college may be able to assist in travel costs to students outside of Northern California; inquire with Jenna Sciarrino Pol, Associate Director of Admissions, jcs22@stmarys-ca.edu for more information.

Scholarship Award

Awards are worth $13,000 per year awarded to entering first time freshman for each of four years of consecutive full-time study.

Students may only compete for one Departmental Scholarship.

 

Current Integral Students

Current students in the Integral Program (sophomores and beyond) are eligible for a number of scholarships. 

 

The Charles & Marie Robertson Foundation Scholarship for Integral Program Students

The Charles and Marie Robertson Foundation has supported Integral Program students since 2016. This year $40,000 of support was awarded to continuing Integral students. These scholarships support students with unmet need as determined by the SMC Financial Aid Office. In order to be eligible for Robertson Foundation Scholarships, Integral students must complete a FAFSA.

Tom O’Donnell and Family Scholarship

The Tom O’Donnell and Family Scholarship is awarded to a continuing Integral student with a strong academic record in the Integral Program, and unmet need as determined by the SMC Financail Aid Office. In order to be eligible for the Tom O'Donnell Family scholarship, Integral students must complete a FAFSA.

Integral Alumni Scholarships 

The Integral Alumni Scholarships were awarded for the first time in 2020. This year over $60,000 of scholarship support was awarded to continuing students in the Integral Program. These scholarships support students with unmet need as determined by the SMC Financial Aid Office. In order to be eligible for IAC scholarships, Integral students must complete a FAFSA.
