How do I know which courses are being offered?
You can view the Four-Week Session and Six-Week Session course pages.
How much credit can be earned for each course?
The unit value for each course is clearly marked on the course page. Most courses are 3-unit courses.
When and how do I register for Gael Summer 2024?
For SMC students, registration will open February 23, 2024. You can register on GaelXpress, and it will remain open throughout the spring semester for courses with openings. Please note that payment must be made to the Business Office first before you are permitted to register. For information regarding payment, please contact the Business Office. Please click here to pay your security deposit of $250 online.
For non-SMC students, you must fill out the open enrollment form on the registrar site and submit it to the registrar.
Do I need the approval of my academic advisor to register?
No. It is always good to consult with your academic advisor to check which courses you need, but you do not need advisor approval to register for Gael Summer 2024.
What is the cost of Gael Summer 2024 and is financial aid available?
The tuition cost for a full credit Gael Summer 2024 is $3,000. The fee for Gael Summer 2024 activity course and Chemistry Lab are listed by the course information. Course fees where applicable are listed in the course information.
When will I know if I got into a course?
When current students register on GaelXpress, it will tell you if the course is still open. Like all terms, there is a possibility that a course could be canceled, but most likely you are in the course once you register.
Entering transfer students and non-SMC students should contact the Registrar’s Office for current course enrollment information.
How do I know if I am in the right course?
You should meet with your advisor to review your entire list of courses taken, requirements for graduation, and which Gael Summer 2024 course is right for you.
When can I Add/Drop a class?
Adding/dropping a class must be done within the FIRST TWO DAYS of the term.
When is the deadline to withdraw from a course without an academic penalty or to change a course to Pass/Fail grading option (if applicable)?
